OLIVE OIL

Tar and Vabriga region is known for its quality olive oil.

Olive groves from the Larun Bay have been giving oil since antiquity and are considered to produce the finest oil in Europe.

Anyway, if you decide to visit their open cellars and tasting room you will be welcomed by the century-old olive trees dotted with dry stone walls.

LIGHTHOUSE RT. ZUB (CAPE TOOTH)=LIGHTHOUSE VILLA

The lighthouse cape Zub, situated on the eponymous cape, rents as a Lighthouse Villa.

It was built in 1872 on the westernmost point of the Lanterna peninsula that lies between the bays of Tarska and Lunga, both known for their nice stone and pebble beaches.

The stone building, surrounded by greenery, 10 metres from the sea and with a private access to a rocky beach, contains comfortable accommodation for 8 people.

Due to the automation, there is no light keeper in the facility.

The easily accessible lighthouse (the asphalt road leads directly to the object) offers its guests a peaceful vacation and quick access to Porec or Novigrad and a nearby holiday resort.

TARSKI VALA=BIRDWATCHING

Although being close to Tar and Vabriga, the bay of Tar is not recommended for bathing because of the mud brought by the river Mirna. The nearby Lanterna peninsula with its stone and pebble beaches is certainly the better choice.

However the bay itself is worth a visit for fish and birds.

Bird lovers will be especially enchanted by this important site for migratory birds.
